Which brand is better? Mentor Breast Implants or Allergan Breast Implants
Which brand of Breast Implants should you choose, Mentor or Allergan? Currently two US companies manufacture FDA approved breast implants. Both Mentor and Allergan make Silicone and Saline implants. All types of Implants whether Silicone or Saline come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Contrary to popular belief implants are not sized ABCD as bras are. Simply because there is no standard for ABCD based cup sizes. Instead breast implants manufacturers base their sizing on the volume of the implant using the metric system cubic centimeter better knows as “cc”. Each 30cc equals to one fluid ounce. Allergan bases its progression of sizes on increments of 30cc a time, such as “300cc”, “330cc”, “360cc”, etc… While Mentor is based on increments of “25cc” at a time such as “300cc”, “325cc”, “350cc”, etc... and after “400cc” by “50cc” such as “400cc”, “”450cc”, “500cc”, etc...
As far as quality is concerned Beverly Hills breast implant surgeon Dr. Ivan Thomas believes both are very well made and equal. "I have used breast implants manufactured by both companies. I have no reservation recommending one or the other brand. Prices are also comparable."
